Teaching and learning methods at the Faculties

Teaching content is communicated in four main forms at the university:
- during lectures (wykład) given by a professor in front of a group of students. The professor presents theoretical knowledge and an overall view of a subject. Presence in not checked although it is recommended to participate in lectures.
- during tutorials (ćwiczenia) used for practical education, class discussion and application of a theory known from lectures. Presence is obligatory.
- during laboratories (laboratorium) which takes place in rooms equipped with special machines, engines etc. Students acquire different skills and are trained experimental knowledge. Presence is obligatory because laboratory classes are one of the most important at PUT.
- during seminars (seminarium) where students share their ideas and discuss topics with the lecturer. Each student should prepare and deliver an oral presentation. on a specific topic suggested by the lecturer. Presence is obligatory on seminars
- during projects (projekt) which are prepared by a student or a group of students.
