Faculty of Engineering Management

Faculty of Engineering Management of Poznan University of Technology (FEM PP) continues the traditions and good practices of industry and management organization initiated before World War II by such Polish engineers as Karol Adamiecki, Piotr Drzewiecki, Edwin Hauswald and Zygmunt Rytel. Currently, the Faculty has three institutes: the Institute of Safety and Quality Engineering, the Institute of Logistics and the Institute of Management and Information Systems. Each of the Institutes supervises one field of study - respectively: Safety Engineering, Logistics and Engineering Management.  Their main activities are teaching, scientific research and cooperation with the economy. The Faculty of Engineering Management has been at the forefront of the Rzeczpospolita and Perspektywy rankings in terms of functioning and education for many years.

The mission of FEM PP is to generate new knowledge by creatively combining engineering sciences with management sciences and education in the field of logistics, safety engineering and engineering management also on a continuous basis, in connection with the conducted scientific and research and development theses in cooperation with the labor market, in terms of sustainable development.

The vision is to build the brand of FEM PP as a valued team of competent experts and a significant research and teaching unit of Poznan University of Technology, recognizable in Poland and abroad, a sought-after partner in research and development and didactic projects, guaranteeing a high level of science and quality of education.

 According to the categorization carried out in 2018 by the Committee for the Evaluation of Scientific Units, the Faculty - by the decision of the Minister of Science and Higher Education - was awarded the A category, which is evidence of, among others, a very good level of scientific achievements, in particular publications, scientific potential, material effects of scientific activity (financial effects, application of research results), the impact of scientific activity on the functioning of society and the economy.

Education at FEM PP is conducted in the field of social sciences, in the discipline of management and quality science. In the didactic offer adapted to the national and international labor market, the Faculty carries out full-time and part-time engineering and master's studies in the fields of: Engineering Management, Logistics and Safety Engineering, as well as full-time studies conducted in English: Engineering Management – first cycle studies, and  Managing Enterprise of the Future and Logistics Systems – second cycle studies. The education meets the requirements of ISO 9001: 2015, as evidenced by the Quality Management System adopted by FEM and certified since 2010.

Apart from the presented scope of education, FEM PP also offers numerous postgraduate studies as well as courses and training.

 An important aspect of adjusting the education offer to the market needs are systematically organized meetings with the Business Council, during which representatives of enterprises provide valuable comments on the expectations and level of preparation of the Faculty graduates. Students of FEM PP operate within research clubs in student organizations and are actively involved in the work of the PP Students’ Union. This is a good way to practice not only teamwork, but also to acquire organizational skills.

 As part of international cooperation, FEM PP participates in the following programs: ERASMUS +, NAVA, exchange with China and Peru and international exchange of students of technical universities IAESTE. The Faculty also participates in the work of the European Association of Students of Industrial Engineering and Management ESTIEM.
