The PUT BEGINS COOPERATION WITH NORTHVOLT COMPANY

The Swedish company Northvolt is a supplier of lithium-ion cells and battery systems. The largest energy storage plant in Europe will be built in Gdansk, costing 200 million dollars. Today, prof. Wojciech Sumelka, the Vice-Rector for Research on behalf of prof. Teofil Jesionowski, Rector of the Poznan University of Technology, signed the cooperative agreement with Northvolt company. The ceremony took place during the inauguration of the construction of a new factory.

The purpose of the contract concluded between the Poznan University of Technology, Gdansk University of Technology and Northvolt is the implementation of joint ventures, in particular conducting research and development works. The aim of the agreement is developing and testing innovative solutions in the field of energy storage, conducting implementation works aimed at commercializing technical solutions, using the university's potential in joint R&D works, promoting the results of joint research and development and implementation works in the scientific and socio-economic environment, as well as undertaking activities in the area of ​​staff training.
