Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications
The Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications began its operation on 1.10.2006 using material resources and experience of academic staff of PUT’s Institute of Electronics and Telecommunications. Established in 1974, the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunications in 30 years of its work became one of the most esteemed research and educational entities in Poland.
The educational offer of the Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications is noteworthy for its modern methods of education and wide range of subjects. The Faculty provides outstanding all-round education of the first and the second cycles in the field of electronics, telecommunications and information technology. Both full-time and part-time studies are available.
The Faculty has the right to confer doctor and doctor habilitated degrees in telecommunications; it also offers doctoral studies.
All available forms and modes of education serve to one purpose: to provide students with essential, up-to-date knowledge and prepare them well to meet increasingly serious challenges of information society.
PUT’s Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications implements its mission in accordance with the mission of Poznan University of Technology, defined by “The Strategy of Poznan University of Technology Development 2020” - Resolution 114 passed by PUT’s Senate on 15 December 2010. It is expressed as follows:
The mission of Poznan University of Technology is “to provide higher education in various fields of studies, as well as lifelong learning mode, closely linked to research conducted at the University and in contact with the society”.
In this context, the mission of the Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications is defined as aspiration to expand knowledge by carrying out scientific research and spread it through higher education studies of all cycles as well as implementation of research results in the field of broadly defined telecommunications, information and electronic technologies.
