Cooperation with Brazil

Vice-rector for Lifelong Learning, prof. Stefan Trzcieliński and Emilia Wojtczak from Lifelong Learning and International Education Office took part in an educational mission in Brazil, which was organized under the patronage of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education and the Polish Embassy in Brasilia.

PUT delegates visited The Alberto Luiz Coimbra Institute for Graduate Studies and Research in Engineering - COPEE UFRJ - a unit of the prestigious Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. The Federal University is ranked on the list of the best universities in Brazil and Latin America and there are many common fields for cooperation in research. The Vice-rector of PUT presented proposals for the Memorandum of Understanding.
The Poznań University of Technology participated in the Salão do Estudante educational fairs in Rio de Janeiro and Curitiba. The fairs attracted a lot of young Brazilians. The most popular programmes
to study were: Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation and Robotics, and Engineering Management.
In Rio de Janeiro and Curitiba there were also meetings with Polonia.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Poland in Brasilia, Andrzej Maria Braiter, organized a meeting with universities in Rio de Janeiro. In Curitiba, PUT representatives attended meetings at the two largest Universities of the State of Parana: the Federal University of Parana (UFPR) and the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Paraná - PUCPR. PUT signed two Memorandum of Understanding with UFPR and  PUCPR. New agreements open the possibility for academic staff and students exchange as well as joint research projects.
