Students from Kazakhstan on PUT
Last semester Poznan University of Technology welcomes a numerous group of students from Karaganda State Technical University and Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunication, (Kazakhstan).The visit of students is a result of the exchange programme within Agreements of understanding signed between our universities. The students were engaged in the following areas of study: chemical technology, civil engineering, electrical engineering at our university.
The individual programme of every student included not only obligatory subjects in the chosen fields, but different practical activities, such as work in the laboratories, participation in the research projects. They appreciated the practical lessons in the up-to-date laboratories, which help them to be involved more deeply in the speciality. During their stay the students were active participants of the course organised by the Centre of Languages and Communication „Introduction to polish culture”, intercultural meeting “PUT around the world - Intercultural cafe”, conducted by LLL and International Education Office, where they made unforgettable presentations about Kazakhstan customs and way of life.
However, apart from the educational offer, the students from Kazakhstan had a good chance to get acquainted with the city, with Polish culture and traditions. During their stay, they discovered a lot of beautiful and interesting landmarks of Poznan.
At the meeting with prof. T. Jesionowski, vice-rector of Poznan University of Technology, the students thanked for a unique possibility given them within semester exchange. They delivered their impressions, which were beyond their expectations. During the meeting Prof. T. Jesionowski expressed the hope to see the students again in our university, and proposed them to continue our cooperation in future taking part in summer schools, PhD program, and joint scientific researches.
