Peru-Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC)
Between July 8-25, 2019 within the summer school program, Poznan University of Technology hosted a group of 10 students from UPC - Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas, Lima, Peru. The group was accompanied by Professor Sergio Salas. The aim of the summer school was to develop students' competences in the field of "Control Engineering". Classes were given by lecturers from the Faculty of Computer Science and Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications at the Poznan University of Technology. In addition, students had the opportunity to visit PUT Library and participate in study visits in PUT laboratories such as car simulator and flight simulator, laboratories „Time for Professionalists”, European Center for Bioinformatics and Genomics and they visited external company - INEA. The Regional Center for International Debate in Poznań conducted two workshops in the field of culture and history of Poland. In their free time, participants took part in cultural events such as organ concert in Poznan Fara Church, guided tours around Poznan, visited FORT Va and paid a visit to the exhibition „The Enigma Codebreakers”. Students also had the opportunity to visit the castle in Kórnik and the palace in Rogalin. Thanks to the kindness of the PUT Sports Center, they could play bowling together with foreign students studying at PUT who helped them during their stay in Poznan as their Buddies - mentors. The students also went on a visit to the Poznan-Kobylnica Airport of the Poznan Aeroclub named after Wanda Modlibowska and fly in a plane, which was an unforgettable surprise organized by the Rector of the PUT - prof. Tomasz Łodygowski.
The visit of Peruvian students at PUT ended with a solemn ceremony summing up the Summer School, which was held in the White Room of the Poznan City Hall. There were presentations of the organizers of the Summer School, the history of cooperation between PUT and UPC and the students were also awarded participation certificates.
