GENERAL ACADEMIC PROFILE
The versatile and modern structured ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING course provides high-level learning for specialists in: lighting technology, electro-thermal engineering, electrical machines and actuator systems, power electronics, microprocessor technology, mechatronics, electromobility, electrical and electronic systems in vehicles, electrical power engineering and renewable energy sources.
The studies are carried out at two levels: first degree - engineering and second degree - master, and take place in full-time mode. In the initial stage of the studies, basic subjects and electrical engineering field subjects are taught. Students, after having studied the general and electrical engineering field subjects, have the opportunity to choose a specific subject for further studies in one of the five areas (first degree studies) or five specialities (second degree studies).
If you are interested in electrical engineering, electronics, mechatronics, electric drives, automotive engineering, electromobility, renewable energies or power engineering, then the field of study ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING is just for you!
SECOND CYCLE FULL TIME STUDIES - GENERAL ACADEMIC PROFILE

Master of Science
PROGRAMME DESCRIPTION:
The needs of the dynamically developing economic and industrial environment in Wielkopolska Region related to electrical engineering (Volkswagen Poznan, Solaris, Modertrans, MPK Poznan, ENEA, Philips and many smaller and newly established production and service plants) and the growing number of well-paid job offers in professions requiring knowledge of engineering electricity, indicate a great demand for specialists operating in the field of broadly understood electrical engineering. The Faculty of Automatic Control, Robotics and Electrical Engineering of the Poznan University of Technology meets these needs by offering the field of study ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING. This field of study belongs to the area of education in the field of engineering and technical sciences and is related to such fields of study as Automatics and Robotics, Power Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunications, Information Technology, Mechatronics.
Education is profiled. The student acquires knowledge and skills in the field of electrical engineering, automatics, electronics, computer science, power engineering and general technical subjects (i.e. mathematics or numerical methods in technology). During the studies, the student learns a number of issues related to the electric drive, electric machines, power electronics, lighting technology, renewable energy sources, power engineering, electromagnetic compatibility or metrology, i.e. issues that are important in the field of broadly understood electrical engineering.
Particular emphasis is placed on typically major subjects, such as: selected issues of electrical engineering, electromechanical drive systems, electrical measurements of non-electrical quantities, disturbances in power systems, lighting technology and electrothermal energy, electronics and power electronics, high voltage technology, power engineering, microprocessor technology, electromagnetic compatibility, selected issues of signal processing, computer measurement systems, decision-making algorithms in power engineering, computer-aided design in power engineering, object-oriented programming in electrical engineering.
Students can choose the path of education from the first semester of studies by choosing one of five specialties:
Drive systems in industry and electromobility
Electrical systems in industry and vehicles
Lighting engineering
Microprocessor control systems in electrical engineering
Smart measurement systems
Depending on the chosen further education path, students learn specialized subjects, such as: computer methods in electrodynamics, testing drive systems in mechatronics, designing high-voltage insulation systems, transmission and distribution of electricity, control of power electronic systems, signal processors, power system operation, electric energy protection automation, electricity generation, nuclear power plants, selected problems of electricity quality assessment, basics of biomedical engineering, electro-thermal processes, lighting design, electrical and electronic systems in industry and vehicles, intelligent building, hybrid vehicles, property security techniques, design and diagnostics of switchgear devices, high-current processes.
Studies on the second degree of the field of ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING end with obtaining the professional title of Master of Science in Engineering.
