Co-financing from NAWA for the "PUT around the world - intercultural year" project
The Department for Life Long Learning and International Education of Poznan University of Technology obtained funding from the National Agency for International Exchange (NAWA) in the amount of PLN 207,446.00 for the implementation of the project: "PUT around the world - intercultural year". The project assumes the implementation of activities aimed at integrating the academic community of PUT with foreign students and employees, exchanging experiences, shaping attitudes of openness and tolerance in the academic environment. Activities undertaken as part of the intercultural year will accompany the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the Poznan University of Technology.
The main goal of the project will be to carry out trainings aimed at increasing the communication and intercultural competence of 100 administrative employees of PUT having daily contact with international students. The trainings will be carried out by the Center for Languages and Communication at the Poznan University of Technology. Moreover, the project assumes the realization of 15 meetings of an intercultural cafe for Polish and international students and PUT employees as well as accompanying activities such as: sight-seeing tours around Poznan for international students of PUT, an international football tournament for the students and employees of PUT , Culture Week organized by the Centre for Languages and Communication, photo exhibition.
The culmination of the intercultural year will be the Intercultural Fair combined with a conference on the internationalization of universities with the participation of diplomats from the countries of origin of foreign students. The implementation of the project will contribute to more effective communication and service for international students studying at PUT, greater integration of the academic community of PUT, better mutual understanding of cultural diversity, and indirectly, also promotion of PUT abroad through relations of PUT graduates in their environment after returning from the studies. The project started on November 5, 2018 and it ends on December 5, 2019.
